They're not a support drive, they are a photo service and a perk of buying from them is the storage. I've bought from them for a decade considering they truly take the all-time quality. Considering people often batch process. Every photo I've always uploaded to Costco's site is yet there...initially they compressed files so uploads were quicker merely at present they don't and simply upload full resolution which takes a long time when your photos are almost ever 5mb and upward per photo. It's such a pain in the hiney to reupload that I never bothered to become into the store and order pictures from them when their site was down for what seemed like half of the year last year due to the server visitor they utilise for photos being breached. I had uploaded several hundred photos (ended upwards ordering a couple thousand thanks to their 9 cent print sale getting my butt in gear to make some headway in catching up) and my estimator has a slow upload speed...information technology would have been besides much trouble to take to upload them all over again somewhere else and not worth the effort for that many photos to take flash drives into a shop and spend hours monopolizing their kiosk. Sometimes I upload but don't order right abroad (or like recently, I order a bunch of carve up albums and realize months later that I missed one...information technology was uploaded but never ordered) simply to get it out of the way. It'due south not consumer friendly. Personally, if they wanted this as their policy, I'd rather them say 'hey, if you know yous don't lodge e'er 60 days, nosotros're more than than happy for you to pay ten for storage for some other 60 twenty-four hours extension' peculiarly since they say one 4x6 print will continue your storage intact. They get a few dollars for the trouble and it decreases the chance of a customer taking their business elsewhere out of frustration. I also retrieve it comes at a bad fourth dimension with everything going on in LA and people losing their homes again. What if someone uses them and lost all of their images? I highly doubt that they'd call back, 'oh, must order from MPix lest they delete my photos' when they are trying to piece of work their way through insurance for repairs and having a identify to sleep at dark. Chances are, if they lost those precious images, they wouldn't recollect the site they gild from would simply up and delete them (and it's probable that an email from them would be seen as an ad, that'south all I get from them, several times a week). I understand with the price of storage space and in that location being a lot of cloud type places you tin can pay to keep your photos safe digitally, only I think information technology'southward a business move that isn't in the best taste unless they had noticed a steep influx of people uploading pictures and not ordering with the presumption they were attempting to save money on photo storage costs. I think but removing those accounts not being created in good faith is better than punishing every customer. But my 2 cents, though. | | | | Post past finally~a~mama on Sept vii, 2016 five:26:48 GMT I receive that notice regularly. If I'g not ready to club I email and ask them to extend my deadline. So far they have done it each time. I do wish they would offering storage for a modest fee though. | | | | Post past LavenderLayoutLady on Sept seven, 2016 10:nineteen:03 GMT ?? Why is information technology short sighted? They're not a back upward drive, they are a photo service and a perk of buying from them is the storage. I've bought from them for a decade because they truly take the best quality. I merely order special pics from them. They really exercise have very practiced quality. I purchase all my everyday pics from Snapfish. I think it's short sighted because it is a service that many other printing companies practise offering. Information technology is a perk that keeps me with Snapfish, knowing that they've kept my photos this long. And the fact that MPIX doesn't offering storage past lx days without an order is a definitely negative tick mark in my book against doing long term business with them. It simply makes it easier to go do business with a company that does offer storage. | |
